GUS BEUTEL LOOKOUT

Public BBQ

A lookout off National Park Road near Ravensbourne with dramatic views that run for miles, and considerably better facilities than most: three wood barbecues, a great many picnic tables, a clean toilet block stocked with paper, and a roundabout with parking generous enough for a car and caravan. A short bushwalk circuit runs from the lookout with information signs along the way, and there are rare birds about. It makes an ideal rest stop on the run between Toowoomba and the coast. One caution on the drive in: the road verge drops four or five centimetres below the bitumen, so keep your wheels on the seal.
